Born in Winder, Georgia. Admitted to Georgia bar in 1925. Admitted to Florida bar in 1930. Educated at the University of Georgia. Practiced in Clearwater from 1925 to 1929 and in Jacksonville from 1930 to 1931. She became the Assistant U.S. Attorney and Chief Clerk, Southern District of Florida in 1932. Later appointed U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida in 1963.
