- Ted was born July 23, 1913, in Bartow, Florida; the son of Edward Leroy Mack and Elizabeth Reed Mack. He and his family moved to Lakeland, Florida, where he attended Polk county public schools. He earned a Doctor of Laws degree from the University of Florida. During World War II, as a US Navy Lieutenant, Ted served as Communications Officer, aboard the escort carrier, USNS Croatan (CVE 25). For over 50 years, Ted was Federal court reporter for US District Court Judges, William Barker, William B. McRae, and Ben Krentzman. He died on May 9, 2002.
