Biographical Note
The mule car operated between the Royal Poinciana Hotel and The Breakers, both owned by Henry M. Flagler. The mule was unhitched from the car, walked to the other end, and rehitched for the return trip. The mule car, bicycles and bicycle sedan chairs (Afromobiles) were the only transportation allowed in Palm Beach by Flagler.
