General Note
Accompanying note: "Three women's clubs consolidated in 1925 to build this building on land donated by Judge Cooper. The building was designed to provide for stage productions, dances, large meetings and dinners. The building housed the first library and during World War II was a USO. It is on the National Register of Historic Places."
"In 2000, the Punta Gorda Women's Club transferred ownership to Old Punta Gorda, Inc. (now known as the Punta Gorda Historical Society). The building is available for rent for parties, receptions, meetings, etc. These rental fees provide the money to maintain the building."
