Accompanying note: "Building was built by Isaac Trabue, founder of Punta Gorda--originally called Trabue. This building was his law office and land sales office. Building was the first Post Office from July 1, 1886 - August 12, 1886. This is the oldest building in Punta Gorda. It was originally located on U.S. 41, 1 block of the southbound bridge. It has been moved twice, first to a location on Nesbit Street next to the Post Office and then in 2000 to the History Park on Shreve Street. At the present time (2006) it is home to the Peace River Writer's Center."
