General Note
Born on January 9, 1949, in Hartford, Connecticut. Graduated from Central Connecticut State College in 1972 with a degree in elementary education and moved to South Florida to teach. Decided to become an officer and graduated from the police academy in May 1975. In 1977 she married fellow officer Sergeant Mark Seiden. Cheryl Seiden was shot on July 14, 1982 while attempting to arrest an armed robber (Robert Reholga Mack) and died on July 28, 1982. Her name is inscribed on the National Law Enforcement Memorial (East Wall, Panel 20, Line 12) in Washington, D.C.
