General Note
Born on May 21, 1906, in Laurens, South Carolina. The Baldwin family moved to Miami in 1925 when Patrick was 19 and he joined the Miami Police Department on December 4, 1925 after first working as a clerk. He married Pearl Rackley in 1928. On March 29, 1940 Officer Baldwin apparently fell asleep at the wheel of his cruiser which subsequently hit a pole. His name is inscribed (East Wall, Panel 44, Line 2) on the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington, D.C.
