Henry Hohauser was born in New York City and educated at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. He came to Miami in 1932 and was a practicing architect in Miami Beach for more than 20 years. Hohauser's firm designed more than 300 buildings in the Miami area and he is credited with being the originator of modernism in Miami Beach. Henry Hohauser died in 1963.
