Grocerteria was one of the first self-service stores in Florida. Opened at the southeast corner of Kentucky Avenue and Pine Street in Lakeland, Florida. The original owners, D.C. Boswell and J.E. Miller, sold the store to Whit Cook who, in turn, sold it to J.E. Miller about the time this picture was taken in 1924.
