General Note
The 346-acre park was leased in 1966 by the Florida Park Service from the U.S. Air Force. In 2005, the Florida Park Service assumed ownership. The park has large number of rarer species, including a virgin longleaf pine forest. It is located next to Eglin Air Force Base.
