General Note
During World War II, the US Army ran a radar training camp called Camp Murphy (named for Col. William Herbert Murphy) at what is today Jonathan Dickinson State Park. Over 6000 soldiers were trained on site from April 1942 until the camp was deactivated in November 1944.
