General Note
This day-long Greek Orthodox celebration includes a morning service at St. Nicholas Cathedral, the release of a white dove of peace, and the ritual dive by Greek Orthodox boys in Spring Bayou for a cross, which is followed by Greek foods, music, and dancing, known as a glendi. After the dive, the divers parade through the streets chanting and collecting money on their way to the glendi.
