Conquistadors come ashore in a reenactment of De Soto's alleged landing in Manatee County. Through "film magic," a crewman is transported through time to the present to see what the area is now like. A woman shows the crewman the area by cruising around in a Corvette convertible, seeing Bradenton, Palmetto and the island communities. They go for a plane ride, providing aerial views.
