These bibliographies provide a list of books that examine Florida’s history, culture and heritage. Many of the books cited in these bibliographies are readily available at your public library or through interlibrary loan. Some rare books are available for viewing in the reference room of the State Library of Florida in Tallahassee. The books referenced in these bibliographies are also a good place to find additional citations for primary source material available at the State Archives of Florida, the National Archives, the Library of Congress and elsewhere.
State Library of Florida and the Florida Collection: The State Library’s collections include more than one million circulating books, reference materials, state and federal documents and regulations, and audiovisual materials. The Florida Collection includes 60,000 books, manuscripts, maps, memorabilia, and periodicals pertaining to the state.
