Background Information

The Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce and the Cigar Manufacturing Association of Tampa teamed up to produce this film in the 1950s to promote the city of Tampa and its extensive involvement in cigar making.

This film uses the story of a young man visiting his uncle, a cigar manufacturer, in Tampa to showcase the city's cigar industry. The film shows Ybor City and the cigar plant where all aspects of cigar making are discussed, highlighting hand and machine cigar rolling techniques. It also includes scenes of Tampa's airport, downtown, and harbor during the annual Gasparilla Pirate Festival.
