Secretary of State, R.A. Gray, custodian of the Capitol and a former State Commander of the American Legion, presented a W.W.I German cannon that had stood on the Capitol grounds for some years to Senator LeRoy Collins, Chairman of the Leon County Defense Council's Salvage Committee in presence of Hamlin.
