- General Charles Rinaldo Floyd
- Born October 14, 1797 as one of twelve children of John Floyd of Beauford S.C. and Isabella Mira Hazzard. Charles accompanied his father to battles with Creek Indians, later sent to West Point. He commanded the marine corps sent to receive General LaFayette in 1825. Married twice and lived at Fairfield, formerly his father's estate in Camden Co., GA. He was appointed to remove the Indians from Florida. Died March 22, 1845.
