General Note
"The Final Countdown" starred Kirk Douglas, Martin Sheen, Katherine Ross, and was directed by Don Taylor. The film involved a U.S. nuclear ship that accidentally goes back in time to December 7, 1941, and must decide whether to change history. Some of the scenes were filmed at the Naval Air Station in Key West, and featured the public debut of the USS Nimitz and the F-14 Tomcat.
Accompanying note: "Actor, who plays the part of one of the Japanese pilots, sits in NAS Fire Dept. fire truck cab while waiting for his filming sequence to begin."
