General Note
Richard Parks operated a portrait studio in Tallahassee from 1962 to 1974. First called Richard Parks-Evon Streetman Photography, the studio was later renamed Richard Parks Photography after Streetman moved to Gainesville about 1965.
Built in 1848 by George Proctor, a free black man who had built the Randall House across the street, for Henry L. Rutgers, a banker, Territorial treasurer and member of the Tallahassee City Council. Sold in 1893 to Erastus W. Clark, watchmaker and owner of Clark's Jewelry Store. Daughters Janie and Minnie and later Lewin Spear owned until the Tallahassee Garden Club bought it in the 1950s.
