In 1931 the Board initiated a midwife licensing program to reduce infant mortality and to promote maternal and child health.
Accompanying note: "Charter members Col. W.C. and Minister. Club organized 1926 (S.B.H. nurse) following 1926 hurricane. This club has bought and paid for lot on which to build club house."
