Attorneys for Florida's two top horse racing tracks, Hialeah and Gulfstream, brought forth their best oratory complete with motion pictures, charts and paintings, on pro and con arguments about the tracks alternating their racing dates. The bill, sponsored by State Senator A.J. "Red" Ryan of Dania, far right, required the tracks to swap choice winter racing dates beginning December 1, won Senate committee approval 8-5.
