General Note
Owners of the Silver Springs attraction Carl Ray and W.M. "Shorty" Davidson opened Paradise Park in 1949 as a tourist attraction for African Americans only. The park was located just south of Silver Springs and stayed in operation until the late 1960s.
Note sign reads, "See Silver Springs from.... Paradise Park for colored people"
