General Note
The Old Christ Church in Pensacola was built in 1832 of local brick and hand-hewn heart pine beams. Seized during the Civil War and used as a hospital and barracks by the federal troops. When the parrish moved to new quarters in 1903 the building was used by the African American Episcopal congregation. In 1936 the church became the city library and in 1960 the Pensacola Historical Museum.
