University of Florida football game in Gainesville, Florida.
Shelf number: 19983.
Accompanying note: "The cheerleaders bounded along the edge of the playing field, just like they do now at Florida Field (except that they all were boys). The band sat in the middle of the east stands, just like it does now, except the stands were only a few rows high. Crowds used to pack into the stands to watch the Gators play, and from the top of the west stands (from where this photograph was taken before the first World War) spectators could look out across at Buckman and Thomas Halls, just like they can now. The Gators were trying to win the Southeastern Conference championship; they still are."
