"The donor, Michael J. Drake, received this photo from Dale Aylward of Sarasota."
Accompanying note: "Sarasota Army Air Field was leased to the Army Air Corps by the Sarasota-Manatee Joint Airport Authority in February 1942. The 98th Fighter Squadron was assigned to Sarasota Army Air Field from January 1943 to May 1944. The entire base was later turned back over to civilian use in 1946."
