Accompanying note: "RESUSPENSION - Gov. Claude Kirk resuspended the Taylor County Commissioners after their automatic reinstatement resulting from inaction on the part of the Florida Senate. During the hearing, Kirk had relied on the Taylor County Grand Jury presentment which charged malfeasance and misfeasance by all five commissioners. Item 2 of the presentment said spent large sums of county monies ...county equipment...furnished county labor to dig a canal or ditch at Dekle Beach...to furnish dirt to raise or make valuable lots out of marsh lands owned by private owners...'The suspended Taylor commissioners are E. J. Tedder, R.[Robert] L. Edwards, W.[William] H. King, J.[Johnnie] A. Livingston and W. N. [Bill] Wood.'"
