Accompanying note: "The crosshairs indicate the meeting of Florida's prime meridian and base line, set by government surveyors in 1824. The township grid on which all land surveying in Florida is based begins at this point and extends in all directions. This monument was part of the Cascades Park renovation project, and was rededicated on November 15, 2013."
