General Note

  • Camp Orchard Pond was used from 1927 to 1947, when it was sold. Summer camp operations were moved to Camp Semialachee (union of "Seminole" and "Apalachee") which was used by the Boy Scouts from 1947 to 1965. The camping was then moved to the Wallwood Scout Reservation.
  • Accompanying note: "Conservation studies were put into practice at Boy Scout Camp last week. Doing their good turns by building small catch dams to prevent water erosion, left to right, are Charles Jernigan, Bob Dangras, both of Troop 124, and Buzzie Johnson of Troop 106. The boys also found time to cut fire lanes and do other small conservation tasks during the week."
