  • Accompanying note: "LeRoy Collins Jr. (arrow pointing up) and Coyle Moore Jr. (arrow pointing down), both seriously injured, wait for rescuers to free them from wreckage of their light plane. Working with his snips to free them from above are City Police Officer Melvin Sims (front) and Police Lt. Kenneth Causseaux. At right, hidden by plane, is Highway Patrol Trooper R. L. MacDonald. Collins couldn't be taken out of the plane through the opening where he's trying because both his legs were trapped inside the plane. Moore was lying partially on top of him."
