George W. Barclay owner of the Schooner Alexander [?] masters, deposeth and south that in the case of John Lawrence v. the Schooner Alexander- Reid is a material witness on the trial of the above cause for him, that he expects to prove by said Reid that the said John Lawrence was paid by the said [?] the full amount of his wages while on board said Schooner- and that said Reid is now absent on a voyage to Apalachicola.

And deponent further south that Alexander Lamb is a potential witness for him on the trial of the above cause, by whom he expects to prove that said Lawrence has been paid the full amount of his wages for services on board said Schooner- that said Lamb is now absent on a voyage to Apalachicola- and Deponent further said that he expects to be able to obtain the depositions of said Reid and Lamb within a short period, and that the application for continuance is not made for delay but that Justice may be done.
