Justus R. Fortune

On the 3[rd] day of October George N. Hutchins who has been using Fortune's horse returned with him and hitched him near the place where Fortune tin shop was kept The horse got loose and nothing more was seen or heard of him until next morning although diligent search was made for him as soon as was discovered that he had got away- He was found next morning in the bottom of the chasm complained of which is immediately opposite the tin in which the horse was usually kept. The horse was badly injured and died on the day it was recovered-
