Photographer Ray Allen McMahan was born in South Lake Weir, Florida on October 13, 1887. He registered for the draft during World War One. During the early part of the twentieth-century, McMahan was the supervisor of the Dade City railway station for the Southern Express Company, which was founded by Henry Plant.
