General Note
Stormsong, a sculptural celebration of our Florida wildlife, is the culmination of a fifteen-year effort by the artist to create a public tribute to our unique natural heritage. In the year 2000, work on Stormsong began, resulting in the 50-foot-long series of cast stainless-steel and aluminum figures representing official state wildlife symbols. The soaring crescent of dolphins is the result of a public/private partnership born out of the direction of Governor Jeb Bush and the enthusiastic support of former Secretary of State Katherine Harris. Principal funding was provided by the generosity of the Anheuser-Busch Foundation, with the vision of Susie Busch-Transou.
Biographical Note
The sculptor was Hugh Bradford Nicholson.
