General Note
The photographer was a park ranger at the park. The clubhouse was built in 1928 by Mellon Greeley from designs by architect Maurice Fatio. The club, which also featured a 9-hole golf course, went through several owners before the State of Florida acquired both the island and the club in 1989. Starting 1998, the state began the process of restoring the clubhouse. It was re-opened as a museum and rental facility in 2003 as the Ribault Club.
