  • Born in Lenior County, North Carolina and moved to Jefferson County, Florida about 1842. He was the commanding officer of F Company 1st Florida Reserved (Inf.) in the Civil War. First married to Elizabeth Folson who died in childbirth in 1863, later married Jane McMillian of Monticello in 1866. In 1878 he followed his son to Wildwood and helped his timber business.
