  • Billy Willis previously lived in Sopchoppy and Panacea. He was an aviation machinist first class aboard the "Yorktown" when it was bombed and sank at Midway Island in 1942. He was rescued by John Tatus from Carrabelle, and George Snyder from Capitola, when they pulled him from the water.
