Biographical Note
Born January 16, 1910 in Bessemer Alabama. Family moved to West Palm Beach. Called to active duty on 1934. Sent to Pensacola to train as a Naval Aviator graduating 1938 afterwards serving as a USS ranger and USS wasp. Entered combat on Marcus Island May 1944. Retired as Captain July, 1, 1964. He died on June 30, 1996 and was interred at Arlington National Cemetery.
Medal of Honor Recipient.
