General Note
The house was built in 1916, for Edson and Nettie Keith. It was later sold to Charles and Mae Prodie in 1941. They turned it into the Phillippi Plantation, an exclusive luxury inn, which was open from December to April, until 1960. After the death of Mae Prodie in 1986, the house was renamed the Phillippi Mansion, and is open to the public. Later added to the National Register of Historic Places on March 14, 1991.
