General Note
Born on March 12, 1876 in Fort Vaille, Tennessee. Fought in the Spanish American War with Company H, 4th Regiment of the Tennessee Infantry. Married Willie Ruth Scott in 1903. Moved his family to Florida in 1908. Joined the Tampa Police Department in February 1921. He was shot and killed on September 24, 1922 as he was attempting to arrest Jesse Glenn. The name of Henry R. Lett is inscribed on the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington, D.C. (East Wall, Panel 59, Line 14).
