  • Captain William Haddock Cone was the second son of Captain William Henry Cone, II, and Sarah Haddock Cone. Served with brothers Barnard and Charles in the 3rd Seminole War of November 1857. William along with brothers Sergeant Barnard, Lieutenant Simon Peter and Captain Charles Floyd served in the 2nd Florida Cavalry and fought in the Battle of Olustee. William Haddock Cone was born on July 15, 1825. He was the father of Florida Governor Frederick P. Cone.
