- Portrait of Seminole County Sheriff J. L. Hobby.
- Served as Seminole County sheriff from 1952-1955 and then again from 1956-1967 after a one year suspension from Governor LeRoy Collins while Hobby was under indictment by a federal grand jury on charges of illegally taking money from moonshiners. He died in Ashburn, Ga. on August 15, 2009.
