She went to the Paris Olympics in 1922. She held the America record for javelin throwing, but was not able to compete in the Olympics. A 1921 graduate of FSCW, she also worked for the WPA, and wrote a novel called Possom Tor about life in Florida. She died in 1974 in Charlottesville, VA.
The original image can be found in M99-23. It came from a scrapbook kept by former FSCW student Dorothy Dodd.
