Description
One digital audio tape (DAT). Jan Milner serves as emcee. John McEuen and Jimmy Ibbotson were members of the country-rock-bluegrass group the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, formed in 1965 and originally based out of California. McEuen replaced band member Jackson Browne in 1966. Along with the Byrds, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band helped move popular rock music into the folk and country genres. Their influential 1972 album, "Will the Circle Be Unbroken," features many famous country and old-time performers, including Merle Travis, Maybelle Carter and Vassar Clements. McEuen left the band in 1987, and Ibbotson left in the 1990s. In 2000, McEuen and Ibbotson released the album "Stories and Songs."
