Semi-tropical scenery, ample hotels, and good hunting and fishing are listed as inducements. The ad also claims Florida has the best climate for persons suffering from pulmonary complaints. Mail for Havana and the West Indies passed along the route. Printed on page 16 of the Florida Official Path Finder, vol. 1, no. 3 (February 1887).

A booklet describing what passengers would see as they traveled along the Queen and Crescent Route to Cuba and Nassau. The booklet includes detailed information about the American Civil War history of the stops along the route in North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky and Georgia; hotels where passengers could stay; attractions passengers could see in these cities; and images of both the hotels and the attractions. The end of the booklet describes the automatic electric block signal system used along the route and has the timetables for trains and steamships.

The magazine article titled "At the Home of a Florida 'Cracker'" was written by Clarence Bloomfield Moore and published in Demorest's Family Magazine, Volume XXVIII, No. 4 in February 1892. In the article, Moore defines what a Florida "cracker" is and writes about the life of a Florida "cracker" named Captain Mansfield, who served during the Third Seminole War (1855-1858).
