Watson describes the movements of the 7th Florida Infantry Regiment from Key West around Florida and then to Tennessee. The diary includes descriptions of weather, news, meals, illnesses and deaths.

A flier for an NAACP meeting with speakers Ezell Blair Jr., Patricia Stephens and Bernard Lee. The topic was "Freedom Now" and each speaker was actively participating in the civil rights movement at the time. Tallahassee civil rights activist Patricia Stephens was to speak about her experience serving 49 days in jail. She and seven other students were jailed for holding a sit-in at Woolworth's lunch counter in Tallahassee.

A booklet published by the Congress of Racial Equality with an introduction by Lillian Smith. It consists of six stories written by young people involved with sit-ins and other non-violent demonstrations across the United States. Patricia Stephens Due, a Tallahassee civil rights activist who was jailed for 49 days with seven other students following a sit-in at a Woolworth's lunch counter, tells her story from jail. She writes about the events leading up to being jailed and the conditions at the Leon County Jail. The other five stories were written by Edward Rodman (Portsmouth, Virginia), Paul Laprad (Nashville, Tennessee), Thomas Gaither (Orangeburg, South Carolina), Major Johns (Baton Rouge, Louisiana) and Martin Smolin (activities in the North).

Series of newsletters published by Lawton Chiles' 1970 campaign for U.S. Senate during Chiles' walk across Florida. The reports describe the route Chiles took, as well as the people he met and the topics they discussed. Other politicians, representing local and state governments, joined Chiles at various points, including state senators Dempsey Barron and Wilbur Boyd, and State Superintendent of Instruction Thomas D. Bailey. Chiles walked all the way from Century in Escambia County to Key Largo, stopping in Tallahassee for the legislative session. Chiles was a state senator representing the Lakeland region at this time.
