- Series of newsletters published by Lawton Chiles' 1970 campaign for U.S. Senate during Chiles' walk across Florida. The reports describe the route Chiles took, as well as the people he met and the topics they discussed. Other politicians, representing local and state governments, joined Chiles at various points, including state senators Dempsey Barron and Wilbur Boyd, and State Superintendent of Instruction Thomas D. Bailey. Chiles walked all the way from Century in Escambia County to Key Largo, stopping in Tallahassee for the legislative session. Chiles was a state senator representing the Lakeland region at this time.

- Letter from private citizen James A. Wright to Francis Preston Whitehair calling his attention to the attitudes of several DeLand city council members toward the New York Giants building seasonal housing for both black and white members of their team and staff. Wright expresses his concern that the council members are willing to allow the project to move forward despite its violation of city ordinances prohibiting the mixing of the races in public spaces. Wright attaches several documents to the communication, including a copy of a newspaper article describing how another Giants farm club had handled the issue of segregation, a copy of a statement Wright made to the city commission regarding the Giants' proposed project in DeLand, a copy of the deed for the land where the Giants' project would be located, and the cover page where a city zoning ordinance was to be attached.

- Letter from John W. Edward to Joseph E. Lee asking Lee his opinion as to the merits of the various gubernatorial candidates during the 1916 gubernatorial election in Florida. Edwards is secretary of "Club #2," evidently a Republican organization in DeLand, Florida. In his reply on October 31, 1916, Lee writes that he will vote for Republican candidate George W. Allen and asks Edward and all other Republicans to vote the whole Republican ticket.
