Description
Page 249 from Volume 15 (Volume T) of the "Register of Prisoners Confined in the County Jail of Leon County, Florida." The complete volume is available at the State Archives of Florida. Included on this page are twelve individuals who were arrested when members of the Interfaith Freedom Riders and their supporters (the so-called "Tallahassee Ten") attempted to be served at the segregated Savarin restaurant at the Tallahassee Airport. Nine of these individuals later served short prison sentences for their involvement in the affair, following a lengthy appeals process. Priscilla Stephens (later Kruize), a FAMU student and civil rights organizer, was also arrested for resisting arrest and appears on the register.

Included on this page are nine members of the "Tallahassee Ten" who served short jail sentences for unlawful assembly after attempting to integrate the Savarin restaurant at the Tallahassee Regional Airport. They were originally convicted in 1961.
