It was opened in 1874 in the upper floor of Gallie's Hall. In the 1980s, the Tallahassee Downtown Improvement Authority restored the Munro/Gallie building to its 1890s appearance.

Flier advertising "Operation Palette," the Navy Combat Art Show, to be held March 4-11, 1955 in the Rotunda of the State Capitol in Tallahassee. About 120 paintings depicting World War II and the Korean War were slated for display. Admission was free. The event was sponsored by the Saul-Bridges Post #13 of the American Legion.
