Description
This is a series of short 16mm home movies shot by Ohio native and WWII veteran Frank Turosik during his travels through Florida in the early 1970s. Turosik's love of nature is obvious, as the majority of footage is of birds and other animals at wildlife refuges and nature trails. Film locations include the Gumbo Limbo Trail, Corkscrew Swamp, Everglades National Park, J. N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge, Key West and Fort Clinch.
While the film is somewhat choppy and each segment is short, the number of bird species Turosik captured on film is impressive. Birds in the film include egrets, great blue herons, roseate spoonbills, painted buntings, ibis, anhingas, wood storks, cormorants, woodpeckers, geese and pelicans. Of particular interest are scenes of nesting wood storks and of pelicans executing near vertical dives for fish. Other animals Turosik caught on film include alligators, otters and armadillos. Turosik also captured street scenes in Key West, including shots of the Audubon House, the Fogarty Mansion, Delmonico Restaurant, Sloppy Joes, Duval Street and the Motel Key Lodge on U.S. Highway 1.

Description
This film shows two men motoring down the Wakulla River, towing a camera person in a smaller boat. Footage shows wildlife along the river, including anhingas, limpkins, egrets, alligators and turtles. A giant hornet nest hangs high up in a tree. Underwater footage in the shallow areas of the river includes a shot of a turtle as it dives into the water to make its escape.

The men in the boats make their way down to a fence that Ed Ball erected to block access up river to Wakulla Springs. A man near County Road 365, next to a bridge and boat ramp, points out trash and debris left behind in the area. Next, the film moves to scuba diving scenes at the cavern entrance to the springs. Divers with lights descend and enter the cavern. Once inside, they measure a mastodon bone. The footage shows them swimming near underwater pipes. An overhead shot shows a glass bottom boat filled with tourists snapping pictures of the divers. Various fish, including largemouth bass, Florida gar, mullet and American eel, swim through the water.

Description
This film shows a family visiting the Jacksonville Zoo. It shows animals in concrete and chicken wire enclosures, elephants eating cotton candy from the visitors, and monkeys playing on their playground equipment. The narrator makes many cutesy comments as the animals are shown. The family has lunch and the film shows the snack bar with burgers, fries, corn dogs and snow cones being made. The zoo also features rides, including a merry-go-round, a roller coaster and a miniature train. Then, the zoo director and a city commissioner are seen and an animal "beauty contest" is shown. This film shows a trip down the St. Lucie River with E.W. Dutton. Viewers see gators, blue herons, and many plants and flowers. The film also shows a red-shoulder hawk, sandhill crane, armadillo, black bear and cub, rattlesnake, land crab, and a gator being fed by hand. Viewers see pelicans, mullet, cormorant, deer and a Florida panther. The film series is incomplete.

This film is a well-shot look at Cypress Gardens. It shows canals, bridges, waterfalls, statues and girls in costumes. The film shows that Cypress Gardens is not called the water ski capital of the world for nothing. Twelve skiers take off from a dock at one time, one barefoot skiing backwards. This film is narrated from the viewpoint of an American egret named Snowball who lives on the river at Weeki Wachee. The film shows osprey, limpkin and gallinule, including shots of gallinule nesting. The plot of the film is as follows: A gallinule nest floats away due to the wake of a tour boat. The egret calls for help. A ranger comes to rescue the bird in an outboard and returns the nest to safety. Produced by Weeki Wachee for the Game and Freshwater Fish Commission.
