- One video cassette. (3/4" tape) 20 minutes. Sponsored by the Historical Museum of Southern Florida, the festival was held at the Metro-Dade Cultural Center. The festival consisted of folk demonstrations, food booths, workshops, and musical performances. Cultures and folkways exhibited included Mexican, Venezuelan, Haitian. Jamaican, Cuban, African American, and Jewish. In 1987, the name of the festival was changed to the Traditions Festival.

- Six color slides; 18 negatives. The Folk Arts Apprenticeship Program began in 1983 with a NEA grant of $22,000. The program provided an opportunity for master folk artists to share technical skills and cultural knowledge with apprentices in order to keep the tradition alive. Apprentices must have had some experience in the tradition and agreed to train for at least six months. The first project director was Blanton Owen, later replaced by folklorist Peter Roller. The program was continued each year through 2003.

Interview conducted for a slide/tape program on Cuban-Americans, a copy of which can be found on T80-95.

- Seven color slides. Images are dark. Bert was born approximately in 1925. She spoke little English. She made coiled sweetgrass baskets. Used newer grass, using cotton thread. She made basket bottoms out of palmetto fiber. The Florida Folk Arts Survey was conducted in 1987 by folklorists Tina Bucuvalis, Steve Fragos, Merri Belland, and Barbara Seitz as preliminary research for a joint folk art between the Florida Folklife Program and the Florida Museum of History. The field researchers focused on those areas previously overlooked by FFP staff. The research focused on identifying folk artists and locating appropriate exhibit objects.

- Ten color slides. Todd and Santiago conducting a grass basket making workshop in Miami. The images were created for the Florida Folklife Program's Seminole Slide and Tape Project, a program sponsored by the American Express Company in 1982-1983 to create two educational slide/tape programs for use by schools, community groups, and other educational outlets. One program dealt with sweetgrass basket making; the other on traditional Seminole patchwork. Recordings of the finished program tapes can be found in S 1576, Box 10. Teacher guides, program scripts, and documentation of the project can be found in S 1595, Box 1.
